Faculty of Engineering UNDIP Successfully Maintained ISO 45001:2018 Certificate

On Friday, July 12, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering at Diponegoro University (FT UNDIP) successfully maintained its ISO 45001:2018 Certificate for the second time. The certificate handover ceremony took place in the Senate Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of the Prof. Ir. Eko Budihardjo, M.Sc. Building.

Several critical figures attended the certificate handover event, including the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T, M.T, IPU; Vice Dean of Resources, Dr. Ir. Abdul Syakur, S.T, M.T, IPU; Head of UPT K3L UNDIP, Bina Kurniawan, S.K.M, M.Kes; OHS Certification Consultant from PT Wealthindo Putrapramesti Perkasa, Ir. Tjoek Oedawa, M.H; Coordinator of P2K3 Faculty of Engineering, Dr. A.A.S Manik Mahacandra J.M, S.T, M.Sc; as well as Heads of Departments and P2K3 Department teams within the Faculty of Engineering.

Previously, the Faculty of Engineering received this certificate related to the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHS) for the first time in 2021. Based on the results of the external audit conducted in 2023, the Faculty of Engineering was declared to have passed and was re-awarded the ISO 45001:2018 certificate. This achievement demonstrates the commitment of the Faculty of Engineering to preparing an internationally standardized campus that is safe and comfortable.

“The Faculty of Engineering started OHS in 2019 and obtained ISO 45001:2018 in January 2021. At that time, we were very grateful that the Faculty of Engineering could obtain this ISO 45001. It means that the vision of the Faculty of Engineering as a leading faculty at the international level has been achieved,” said Vice Dean of Resources, Dr. Ir. Abdul Syakur, S.T, M.T, IPU.

For the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T, M.T, IPU, the implementation of OHS is a non-negotiable obligation. He is determined to continue maintaining this mandate so that it remains sustainable. “For the Faculty of Engineering, if anything is lacking, InshaAllah, we will support it. OHS is something that cannot be negotiated; it must be present,” said Prof. Jamari.

The Head of UPT K3L UNDIP, Bina Kurniawan, S.K.M, M.Kes, appreciated the Faculty of Engineering’s achievement in maintaining the implementation of OHS well. He hopes that this success can support UNDIP in creating a zero-accident and zero-risk campus.

“UPT K3L UNDIP congratulates the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP on this extraordinary achievement. Currently, we are promoting OHS at UNDIP. We strive to create a zero-accident and zero-risk UNDIP. Hopefully, there will be no more accidents on the UNDIP campus that result in fatality or injury,” said Bina.
