MISSER Team of the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP Wins Indonesian Inventor Day 2024 Award Delivering ACNOBAN Innovation: Natural Solution for Acne

Bali, August 31, 2024 – The Indonesian Inventor Day (IID) 2024, held at ASTON Denpasar Convention Center, Bali, successfully brought together top innovators from around the world. More than 25 countries participated in this prestigious event, showcasing products and innovations aimed at making a positive contribution to the global community. Among the hundreds of participants, one team that captured attention was the MISSER Team from the Faculty of Medicine at Diponegoro University, presenting their latest innovation, ACNOBAN.

The MISSER Team consists of talented students from the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in various national and international competitions. At IID 2024, they introduced ACNOBAN, an innovative product based on natural ingredients designed to address a common skin problem: acne vulgaris.

ACNOBAN is not just an ordinary skincare product. It was developed through extensive research conducted by the MISSER Team, which is comprised of competent medical students. The product utilizes extracts from bamboo shoots (bamboo apus), which are known for their various skin benefits. Additionally, the extract is further processed with chitosan encapsulation technology to enhance its effectiveness in treating acne. The result is a product that is not only effective but also safe for long-term use.

This innovation not only received recognition from the IID 2024 judges but also attracted the attention of international visitors at the event. ACNOBAN captivated attendees with its holistic approach to acne treatment, from its natural raw materials to the cutting-edge technology used in its production process.

ACNOBAN’s success at IID 2024 was measured not only by the appreciation from visitors but also by the prestigious awards won by the MISSER Team. They brought home two significant awards: the Gold Award in the Beauty and Personal Care Product category and the Best International Invention Innovation Award from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). These awards are a testament to the quality and potential of ACNOBAN in offering innovative solutions in the beauty and skincare industry.

“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition. It is the result of months of hard work and dedication by the team. The support from our mentors and the university has also played a crucial role in our success,” said Aqsa Aufa Syauqi, the leader of the MISSER Team and a medical student at the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP. “These awards are not just for us but for everyone who has supported and believed in us from the start,” he added.

In addition to winning the awards, the MISSER Team’s participation in IID 2024 also opened new opportunities for collaboration with international parties. Several delegates from other countries expressed interest in working together to expand the development of this natural-based product to broader markets.

“We hope that this achievement will motivate other students to continue innovating and not be afraid to compete on the international stage. Indonesia has a lot of potential that can be developed, and we must be confident in showcasing our work to the world,” said dr. Muflihatul Muniroh, M.Si.Med., AIFO-K, Ph.D., the mentor of the MISSER Team.

The MISSER Team’s success at IID 2024 is not the first time they have demonstrated their excellence. The team has previously won various national and international awards for other innovations. The achievement highlights their consistency and commitment to delivering innovative solutions based on solid scientific research.

“This success gives us more motivation to continue innovating and delivering the best. We hope ACNOBAN can soon be mass-produced and provide a real solution for many people facing acne problems,” added Aqsa. He also expressed his hope that more young Indonesians will be inspired to follow in their footsteps and continue innovating, not only in the beauty industry but in other fields that can bring wide-ranging benefits to society.

Indonesian Inventor Day 2024 served as a crucial platform for innovators to present their works to the world. The event, held from August 28 to 31, was attended by participants from 25 countries. It shows various innovative products in fields ranging from healthcare technology and renewable energy to beauty and personal care.

For the MISSER Team, their experience at IID 2024 marks an essential step in their journey as young innovators. With the awards they have won and the recognition from various parties, the team continues to demonstrate that with dedication, hard work, and proper support, young Indonesians can compete and contribute on the global stage.

With ACNOBAN soon to be launched in the market, the MISSER Team from the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP has proven that research-based innovation can not only positively impact society but also serve as a source of pride for the nation.
