Semarang – To strengthen the spirituality of the academic community, Universitas Diponegoro held the UNDIP Bersholawat event, a joint sholawat aimed at fostering dignity and benefit for UNDIP. This event, part of UNDIP’s 67th Anniversary celebration, featured Habib Syech Bin Abdul Assegaf and invited the general public to join at Universitas Diponegoro Stadium, Tembalang, on Monday, October 14, 2024. The event began with a performance by Universitas Diponegoro’s UKM Rebana (READY), followed by Majelis Sholawat Nurul Ilmi.
In his welcoming remarks, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed gratitude for the presence of Habib Syech Bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf at this special event. “Alhamdulillah, UNDIP is now 67 years old. Tonight, we ask for prayers from Habib and everyone present here for the well-being of Diponegoro University, a name first bestowed upon it by Ir. Soekarno for this city’s university,” said Prof. Suharnomo. “Managing 4,000 faculty and staff, along with 67,000 students, is no easy task. We seek the blessings and prayers of Habib and all attendees so we may be granted health and strength to manage the university well and be protected from slander. May UNDIP students be not only academically talented but also possess good morals, with graduates who find employment opportunities easily,” the Rector added.
During the Maulid reading led by Habib Syech Bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf, he mentioned that this was his third time attending UNDIP Bersholawat. “The success achieved by Universitas Diponegoro is inseparable from the sholawat gatherings held annually on UNDIP’s founding day,” said Habib Syech. “I pray that UNDIP students find ease in their studies, achieve success, and become individuals who serve religion, the nation, the state, and their families—young people who bring honor to Indonesia and set an example for others. May UNDIP produce extraordinary, intelligent people who contribute to the nation’s future, dignified and virtuous,” he prayed.
The event attracted more and more participants from various regions who came to listen to the sholawat recitations led by Habib Syech Bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf, accompanied by the Ahbaabul Musthofa hadrah group, creating a serene and reverent atmosphere. (DHW – Public Relations)
