Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Duta Bangsa (UDB) of the Surakarta Regency on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 13:00 WIB, held at the Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., and UDB Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singgih Purnomo, M.M. signed the MoU.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D.; Head of the Program Management Office for Off-Main-Campus Study Programs (PSDKU), Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Waluyo Hadi Eko Prasetiyono, M.S., M.Agr., IPU.; Head of the Innovation and Cooperation Bureau, Dwi Cahyo Agus Setyawan, S.KM., M.Si.; and a delegation from UDB.
UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo expressed his warm welcome to this collaboration and extended his gratitude to UDB for the opportunity. “We are open to this collaboration, and there are many potential opportunities and needs that we can discuss further,” said Prof. Suharnomo.
During the meeting, Prof. Suharnomo highlighted UNDIP’s commitment to community service programs, which are in line with commands from the Minister and Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, which encourage universities to be relevant and beneficial to society.
“We have a desalination machine that can convert brackish water into drinkable water in Demak, Jepara, and Blora Regencies. We also won first place in addressing stunting, as recognized by BKKBN. UNDIP students involved in our Community Service Program (KKN) contribute significantly to tackling stunting in their assigned regions,” he explained.
UDB Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singgih Purnomo, M.M., noted that while UDB has experienced rapid development, it still faces challenges such as limited human resources. “We believe it is the right time to collaborate with a prominent university like UNDIP. We are highly motivated to develop UDB into a world-class university,” said Prof. Singgih Purnomo.
“We still have many obstacles, such as limited human resources and capabilities. We seek guidance and support to help our university grow more rapidly,” UDB Rector added.
