Sunday, December 15, 2024 – the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) organized a Community Service event in the form of Free Medical Treatment and Health Checks at the Kyai Ageng Fatah Social Care Foundation, Plamongansari Village (Kedung), Pedurungan District, Semarang City.
This event is part of the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP’s commitment to fulfilling the Tri Dharma of higher education, encompassing education, research, and community service. To carry out this service, the Faculty of Engineering collaborated with several healthcare professionals and doctors from the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP to provide free health checks and medical treatment for the students and residents of Plamongansari Village.
“As our mentors often say, ‘The best people are those who bring benefits to others.’ This is what inspired us to connect with this orphanage,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamari, S.T, M.T, IPU ASEAN Eng.
According to Prof. Jamari, this community service effort can serve as an initial step for the Faculty of Engineering to establish relationships and provide benefits to the surrounding community. “We hope that this interaction will continue and lead to even greater benefits in the future,” he added.
The health checks and free medical treatments included several activities, such as essential health examinations for children, blood pressure and glucose checks for adults and older people, distribution of basic necessities to the Kyai Ageng Fatah Social Care Foundation, and the provision of nutritious food for local children.
M. Prihono R., the administrator of the Kyai Ageng Fatah Social Care Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the community service program conducted by the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP. He hopes that this event will bring blessings to everyone. “Hopefully, with the presence of all of you here, Allah will bestow His mercy upon all of us,” said Prihono.
