Universitas Diponegoro (06/08) – Bryant Andhika Prayoga was pleasantly surprised when he was announced as the 3rd place winner in the Outstanding Student Competition (Pilmapres) on the Bachelor’s category, held at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo on July 28, 2024. Bryant, a student of the Bachelor’s Program in Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, International Undergraduate Program (IUP), was incredibly proud to represent UNDIP.
Bryant expressed his gratitude and heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported him, especially the professors who have consistently provided guidance, support, and prayers.
“Becoming a finalist in Mawapres (Outstanding Student) 2024 and winning 3rd place at the National Pilmapres would not have been possible without the guidance and prayers of my UNDIP professors. They have mentored, advised, and educated me, helping me grow into a more wise and disciplined individual,” Bryant shared.
“They always reminded me that being an outstanding student is not about being the most genius person, but about being the most balanced in all aspects of life,” he added.
Pilmapres is a prestigious annual competition for outstanding students organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center, National Achievement Center, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.
Bryant competed against 15 other top students from across Indonesia. During the National Final of Pilmapres, he presented his creative ideas in a 10-minute presentation, discussed his achievements in a 30-minute interview, delivered a 10-minute presentation in English, and participated in a leaderless group discussion.
“Challenges kept coming, especially leading up to the national finals. There were many sacrifices to be made, from designing posters, buying materials for prototypes, printing posters, and organizing other documents,” he explained.
Bryant also highlighted the support from his professors, who trained him to present his ideas and findings effectively, both verbally and visually. They also motivated him to develop his leadership skills in managing projects or social activities. Additionally, they provided moral support to help him stay confident and enthusiastic throughout the selection process.
“Almost every day, I was trained to prepare for the National Final of Pilmapres. This preparation included focus sessions in Salatiga with UNDIP professors, English practice at Soetta Airport, staying up until dawn for printouts, and much more. These experiences have helped shape me into a more resilient individual with a strong sense of dedication,” Bryant concluded. (DHW-Public Relations)
