UNDIP, Semarang (May 28, 2025) – The Rector of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) officially inaugurated the university’s Shared Parking Building on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 9:00 AM, located within the Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND) complex. The event was attended by the UNDIP Rector, Chair of the Academic Senate, representatives from the Board of Trustees (Majelis Wali Amanat / MWA), RSND President Director and team, Vice-Rectors, Deans of Faculties and Schools, the construction project officer, contractor PT Majapahit Astabaja and its team, supervisory consultant CV HRV Planner Consultant, and other technical staff.
In his remarks, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si. stated that the inauguration of the Shared Parking Building reflects UNDIP’s commitment to improving campus facilities that are orderly, safe, and supportive of both academic and non-academic activities. “This inauguration is part of our broader effort to enhance facilities at UNDIP,” said Prof. Suharnomo.
The Rector emphasized the importance of autonomy for strategic units such as RSND. He also encouraged continuous innovation to support hospital operations. He noted that robust systems must complement the hard work of RSND leadership and staff to ensure strong synergy.
He further emphasized the need to accelerate innovation and infrastructure to deliver optimal service to both the academic community and the public. “We must all keep moving and give our best wherever we are, working with joy so that the results are tangible,” he said.
At the close of his speech, the Rector extended his deep appreciation to everyone involved in the construction of the parking facility. He expressed hope that the new building would offer a long-term solution to parking challenges, contributing to a more comfortable and organized campus environment.
In his report, Dr. Warsito Kawedar, S.E., M.Si., Akt., Vice Rector II for Planning, Finance, Assets, Business, and General Affairs, explained that this project marks the second phase of UNDIP’s development of a shared parking facility. The initial phase, completed in 2012, consisted of 2.5 floors. The current phase added three more floors, bringing the total to 5.5 floors.
The second phase of construction was undertaken by PT Majapahit Astabaja, with PT Puri Aji Buana serving as the design consultant and CV HRV Planner Consultant as the supervisory consultant. Construction lasted 178 calendar days, from August 20, 2024, to February 13, 2025.
The Universitas Diponegoro’s Shared Parking Building is designed to accommodate up to 368 vehicles. To ensure comfort and safety, the facility is equipped with two elevators, emergency stairwells, and safety systems, including a pump house, water pumps, a generator house, a generator, CCTV, a ground tank, hydrants, a fire alarm, and a public address system.
The inauguration ceremony began with the Rector signing the inauguration plaque, witnessed by the Chair of the Academic Senate and representatives from the Board of Trustees. This session was followed by the signing of a handover document and the official transfer of the building’s management from Vice Rector II, Dr. Warsito Kawedar, to RSND President Director, dr. Agus Setiyo Hadipurwanto, M.Kes. As a symbolic gesture, the UNDIP Rector and RSND President Director cut a ceremonial jasmine garland, accompanied by the Chair of the Academic Senate and the representatives of the Board of Trustees.
The event concluded with a tour of the new facility by all attendees. The Shared Parking Building was developed as a solution to the growing need for integrated and adequate parking space on campus.
