UNDIP, Semarang (June 19, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has once again achieved an impressive milestone on the global stage. In the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR), UNDIP climbed to 624th place globally—an impressive leap of 101 spots from the previous year, surpassing last year’s 70-rank jump.
This achievement serves as tangible proof of UNDIP’s commitment to its vision of becoming a World Class University, made possible through the synergy of university leadership, faculties, and the entire academic community.
UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his deep appreciation for the hard work and collaboration behind this success. “This is the result of collective efforts in academics, research, publication, and international cooperation, carried out with great dedication by UNDIP’s faculty. This upward movement is encouraging news, and we will continue to push toward our target of reaching the top 500 globally,” he said.
Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, Collaboration, and Public Communication, Wijayanto, S.I.P., M.Si., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of sustaining and improving this achievement. “UNDIP’s rank increased by 101 places this year, an even greater jump than last year’s 70-place rise. This achievement proves UNDIP is consistently advancing in the QS WUR. It also aligns with the recognition UNDIP received at the 2024 QS WCU event in Macau, China, for successfully improving its rankings for five consecutive years,” he explained.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity (RPGC), noted that the university’s progress reflects the contributions of all parties and the leadership’s strong commitment to reaching the top 500. “We will continue to support international programs by actively building global partnerships, strengthening academic publication, and driving international recognition of UNDIP’s reputation. We will also intensify strategies to improve key World Class University (WCU) indicators such as Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, and others,” he said.
The QS World University Rankings is one of the world’s most prestigious university ranking systems, assessing institutions based on six key indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty, proportion of international faculty, and proportion of international students.
With this achievement, UNDIP is optimistic about its continued ascent and is committed to solidifying its status as a globally respected university—dignified, impactful, and world-class. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Nurul)
