UNDIP, Batang (July 25, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has formed a strategic partnership with PT Indomarco Prismatama (Indomaret) to support empowerment programs for farmers and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Batang Regency, Jawa Tengah. This collaboration is a concrete step in strengthening the role of universities as agents of community-based economic development in the region.

Approximately 300 guests attended the event, including senior officials from Batang Regency, MSME players, and other guests.

The partnership includes business management training, product quality improvement, marketing, and broader market access for farmers and MSMEs supported by UNDIP in Batang Regency. Indomaret will also provide special shelves for MSME products in selected outlets as part of its marketing support.

“This synergy is a real manifestation of Universitas Diponegoro’s commitment to supporting community economic independence by strengthening the capacity of farmers and MSMEs. We hope this collaboration can develop further and become a sustainable empowerment model,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

Microeconomics Executive Director Feki Oktavianus stated that the partnership with UNDIP aligns with the company’s commitment to implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs that focus on strengthening the local economy. “We are ready to assist MSMEs and farmers by providing business mentoring and broader market access,” he said.

Head of BPK2U UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang W.H.E.P., M.S., M.Agr., IPU, explained, “This program will not only provide training but also facilitate access to micro-financing, product certification assistance, and the development of appropriate agricultural technologies involving UNDIP lecturers and students.”

Through this strategic collaboration, it is expected that more MSME products and local agricultural produce from Batang Regency will be able to compete in national and even international markets.

The collaboration between UNDIP and Indomaret is tangible proof of their commitment to bringing higher education closer to community needs, particularly in fostering the economic independence of farmers and MSMEs. With the spirit of impactful higher education and science, this partnership is not only a strategic step in strengthening local capacity but also reinforces the role of universities as drivers of socio-economic change in the region.
