UNDIP, Jakarta (August 26, 2025) – The Ministry of Transmigration on Tuesday held a send-off ceremony for Universitas Diponegoro’s Patriot Expedition teams at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3. The event was led by Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara and his staff, marking the departure of participants to 38 service sites across 13 provinces in Indonesia.
The expedition is part of the Patriot Transmigration program, a collaboration between Universitas Diponegoro and several other Indonesian universities, in partnership with the Ministry of Transmigration. The program supports development, research, and community service in transmigration areas.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wiwandari Handayani, program lead at Universitas Diponegoro, said that 55 out of the university’s 57 teams departed for their assigned locations. Each team consists of a leader and four members, a mix of active students and alumni. They will spend four months in the field conducting research, community service, and empowerment initiatives.
Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara stated that, with the knowledge and experience they possess, participants are expected to bring about positive change and enhance the impact of transmigration programs. He emphasized the goal of strengthening both urban and rural areas as economic growth centers through the development of Integrated Transmigration Economic Zones (Kawasan Ekonomi Transmigrasi Terintegrasi / KETT).

With strong coordination and cross-disciplinary commitment, Universitas Diponegoro said it is ready to ensure the success of Patriot Expedition 2025. The initiative reflects the tangible contribution of higher education to building sustainable economic ecosystems and promoting community welfare in Transmigration Regions.
The program also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The spirit of unity, dedication, and service carried by the participants represents a concrete step toward UNDIP’s vision: “UNDIP, Noble and Valuable.” (Public Communication/ UNDIP/ Patriot Expedition Team)
