Inauguration of UNDIP Academic Senate Members for the Period of 2025–2030

UNDIP, Semarang (October 20, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) marked a new chapter in its academic journey through the Inauguration of the Academic Senate Members for the 2025–2030 Period and the Farewell Ceremony for the 2020–2025 Academic Senate Members, held at the Prof. Sudarto, S.H. Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, on Monday, October 20, 2025. This inauguration represents the transfer of academic leadership that upholds dignity, integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public benefit.

The ceremony was led directly by UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., based on Rector’s Decree No. 250/UN7.A/HK/X/2025 concerning the Appointment of Academic Senate Members for the 2025–2030 Period. The decree officially established the new senate members, comprising university leaders, deans, and faculty representatives from all schools and faculties at UNDIP. The solemn procession was conducted in a spirit of responsibility and intellectual dedication, reflecting UNDIP’s commitment to transparent and integrity-based university governance.

In his report, Chair of the Academic Senate for the 2020–2025 Period, Prof. Ir. Edy Rianto, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, presented the accountability report outlining the Academic Senate’s achievements over the past five years. Among the key accomplishments were recommendations on university leadership appointments, the opening of 14 new study programs, the closure of 16 diploma (D3) programs at the Vocational School, and the division of one program within the Faculty of Medicine.

UNDIP Academic Senate also formulated several strategic regulations, including guidelines for inaugural professorial lectures, the lecturer code of ethics, university academic policy, and procedures for the dismissal of senate members.

“In terms of faculty career development, a remarkable achievement was recorded with the issuance of 153 decrees for Associate Professors and 123 decrees for Full Professors, reaffirming UNDIP’s commitment to fostering a productive, integrity-driven, and globally competitive academic atmosphere,” said Prof. Edy.

In his address, Prof. Suharnomo expressed his most profound appreciation to all members of the 2020–2025 Academic Senate for their dedication, contribution, and synergy. He emphasized that UNDIP’s success is inseparable from the collaboration among three essential bodies — the Rector, Academic Senate, and Board of Trustees (MWA) — which continuously coordinate to uphold harmonious and accountable governance.

“Alhamdulillah, UNDIP has a well-organized and harmonious structure. Every academic policy decision is made collectively, with a shared sense of responsibility for the university’s progress,” he said optimistically.

The Rector also reminded that the 2025–2030 Academic Senate will face increasingly complex challenges in the global era. He hopes that the spirit of integrity and collaboration embodied in the Integrity Pact will serve as a true guide for strategic thinking and action. “The Academic Senate is a forum for intellectual dialogue — a space to share ideas and solutions. We must preserve a healthy, open, and collaborative academic atmosphere. UNDIP cannot be run by one person alone; we need the synergy of everyone who feels ownership and love (Javanese: handarbeni) for this university,” he emphasized.

Concluding his speech, Prof. Suharnomo encouraged all Academic Senate members to make the body a platform for interfaculty learning and collaboration. Each unit within UNDIP, he noted, has its own strengths that can serve as inspiration to others — in academic management, research, or human resource development. “Let us make the Academic Senate a shared learning space — for discussion and innovation — toward a noble and valuable UNDIP that benefits the nation and the world,” he concluded.

The ceremony continued with the official signing of the Handover Document by Prof. Edy Rianto, formally transferring his duties, responsibilities, and mandate as Chair of the Academic Senate to Prof. Dr. dr. Tri Nur Kristina, DMM, M.Kes., representing the new Senate for the 2025–2030 period, witnessed by the Rector. The signing and the symbolic handover of the gavel marked an ethical and respectful leadership transition, ensuring the continuity of UNDIP’s strong academic values.

The event also included the reading of the Integrity Pact of the 2025–2030 Academic Senate, containing a collective commitment to uphold transparency, objectivity, and honesty in carrying out academic responsibilities — a symbol of shared determination to strengthen clean and accountable university governance.

With the spirit of “Noble and Valuable,” the UNDIP Academic Senate 2025–2030 is expected to serve as a visionary and adaptive academic guardian, upholding the university’s honor and reinforcing UNDIP’s role in advancing inclusive, excellent, and globally competitive higher education.
