UNDIP, Semarang (November 11, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) concluded its 68th Anniversary series of events with great festivity through the Carnival Celebration for UNDIP’s Performance Achievements, held at the Widya Puraya area, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025. The event, rich in meaning, served as a reflective moment to express gratitude for the university’s accomplishments in various fields and as a token of appreciation for the hard work of the entire academic community in realizing the vision of a ‘Noble and Valuable UNDIP.’

Organized by the Faculty of Public Health (FKM), this year’s carnival began with a grand cultural parade. UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., officially launched the event by striking a gong, symbolizing the start of the proud procession. The parade commenced from the SA-MWA Building, accompanied by the UNDIP Marching Band, Prawiro Watang guard, and a royal carriage carrying the Rector and DWP Chairperson, Dewi Widayani, S.H., M.Pd. Vice rectors, deans, institutional leaders, and faculty and school representatives joined the march, wearing thematic costumes that showcased the beauty and wisdom of local culture as they paraded through the main campus road toward Widya Puraya, the event’s central venue.

Carrying the theme “Technological Advancement: Science and Technology for the People,” the carnival featured a parade of ideas, research innovations, and artistic performances from all faculties, schools, and institutions within UNDIP. Each contingent displayed creativity that reflected their identity, contributions, and roles in advancing knowledge and community service. The event became a showcase of expression and collaboration, demonstrating how UNDIP’s innovation and research continue to grow and deliver tangible benefits for the nation.

In his closing remarks, the Rector expressed his appreciation for the dedication of the entire academic community that has contributed to the university’s progress. “Today’s carnival marks the end of our 68th Anniversary celebration series, which we have gone through together—from scientific orations, sports activities, to cultural and religious programs. This event is our way of expressing gratitude for UNDIP’s ongoing achievements. This year, our ranking has risen significantly, both nationally and in Asia, as a result of the hard work of our lecturers, education staff, students, alumni, and the entire UNDIP community,” he said.

Prof. Suharnomo added that the carnival was not merely a celebration, but also a means to strengthen unity and the university’s identity.

“Today’s togetherness shows that UNDIP excels not only in academics and research but also in preserving cultural values, creativity, and collective spirit. Thank you to all committees and participants. See you next year with a bigger, more festive, and more energetic carnival,” he concluded.
