During the meeting, UNDIP reaffirmed its commitment to being directly present at disaster-affected locations across West Sumatra. The forms of contribution provided include:

Specialist doctors and nurses were deployed to assist communities in need of basic healthcare services and post-disaster medical treatment.

  • Psychosocial Support

Mental health nurses and members of the academic community from the Faculty of Psychology at UNDIP provided psychosocial assistance to affected victims, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, older people, and survivors experiencing severe emotional distress. This assistance aims to support mental recovery and enable communities to rebuild their lives after the disaster.

  • Post-Disaster Nutrition Fulfillment Plan

UNDIP also followed up on a nutrition fulfillment program led by Binar Panunggal, S.Gz., M.P.H., to provide nutritious food for families and children at evacuation sites in affected areas.

  • Plan for the Provision of Ready-to-Drink Clean Water Distillation

As a long-term effort, UNDIP has prepared a plan to implement portable water treatment technology developed by Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Widiasa, S.T., M.T., to ensure sustainable access to safe water for both disaster victims and volunteers.

The Governor of West Sumatra expressed his appreciation for UNDIP’s contributions and on-the-ground presence in supporting recovery efforts in affected areas.
