Information Security Advisory for the UNDIP Academic Community

ANNOUNCEMENT

Honorable Academic Community of Universitas Diponegoro,

In response to the increasing number of telephone fraud attempts impersonating official institutions such as the Police, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), banks, and other government agencies, we urge all members of the Universitas Diponegoro academic community to remain vigilant.

Common methods used include:

  1. Informing victims about alleged legal cases, violations, or tax arrears.
  2. Threatening victims with legal consequences or account suspension.
  3. Requesting personal data (National Identification Number/NIK, bank account numbers, OTP, passwords, etc.).
  4. Directing victims to transfer money or follow certain instructions.

We would like to emphasize that:

  1. Data on Universitas Diponegoro’s servers is secure and protected.
  2. UNDIP never provides the personal data of its academic community to unauthorized parties.
  3. Official institutions generally do not request confidential data or fund transfers through unsolicited phone communications.

We advise that if you receive a suspicious call:

  1. Remain calm and do not panic.
  2. Do not provide personal information or OTP codes to anyone.
  3. Do not follow any instructions to transfer funds.
  4. Immediately end the call.
  5. Report the incident to the relevant authorities or the appropriate unit within UNDIP.

Awareness and digital security literacy are shared responsibilities. Let us safeguard information security and protect ourselves from various forms of cybercrime.

This announcement is issued for your attention.
