UNDIP, Semarang (11/2) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), in collaboration with the National Energy Council (DEN), organized an Energy Forum (Sarasehan Energi) on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the 5th Floor of the ICT Centre Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. The event was designed as an academic forum to strengthen synergy among the government, universities, and research institutions in the energy sector.
Through this forum, scientific ideas, policy recommendations, and concrete research collaborations will emerge to support the successful implementation of Government Regulation (PP) No. 40 of 2025 concerning the National Energy Policy (KEN).
The event was attended by the Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., along with university and faculty/school leaders within UNDIP, the Secretary General of DEN, Dr. Ir. Dadan Kusdiana, M.Sc., DEN members, and UNDIP student participants.
In his remarks, the UNDIP Rector expressed appreciation for DEN’s collaboration with UNDIP, noting that it was their first. UNDIP has declared itself a Zero Waste Campus and does not contribute waste to the City of Semarang.
“UNDIP has utilized energy from the UNDIP Reservoir, energy-efficient light bulbs produced by UNDIP’s Vocational School, and other initiatives, which have received appreciation from the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology,” stated Prof. Suharnomo.
On the occasion, Dr. Ir. Satya Widya Yudha, M.Sc., Ph.D., Monthly Stakeholder Coordinator, Member of DEN, stated that as a member of DEN, he holds responsibility for implementing the National Energy Policy through forums such as this, and UNDIP was one of the campuses selected to be visited by DEN. “Hopefully, this discussion will provide information on the direction of energy policy and energy strategies in line with the President’s directives,” said Dr. Satya.
The first discussion session was delivered by Dr. Ir. Dadan Kusdiana, M.Sc., Secretary General of DEN, who explained “The Direction of National Energy Policy under Government Regulation No. 40 of 2025.” The regulation emphasizes energy sovereignty, independence, and resilience to support energy transition and decarbonization toward Net Zero Emissions by 2060. The policy includes increasing the renewable energy mix to 70–72% by 2060, strengthening funding and cross-sector collaboration, promoting electrification and energy efficiency, and developing low-carbon technologies to reduce dependence on energy imports.
“We aim to become a developed country by 2045, and one of the key indicators is clean energy. If these indicators are not achieved, a country cannot be considered developed,” said Dr. Dadan Kusdiana.
The next session was delivered by Dr. Ir. Sripeni Inten Cahyani, M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng., a DEN Expert Staff Member, who presented “Alignment of National Electricity Policy Toward Net Zero Emissions 2060.” The policy focuses on strengthening energy transition, increasing electrification, and raising the renewable energy mix to 70–72% by 2060, in line with Government Regulation No. 40 of 2025. The strategy includes developing electricity infrastructure and supergrid systems, implementing low-carbon technologies (including nuclear power plants and energy storage), controlling energy subsidies, and highlighting the strategic role of universities in research, innovation, and human resource development to support energy self-sufficiency and a green economy.
“We hope that you, the younger generation, will become future leaders and agents of change, taking responsibility for managing future energy toward Golden Indonesia 2045 and Net Zero Emissions 2060,” concluded Sripeni. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7, which aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. It reflects the tagline ‘Noble and Valuable UNDIP.’ (Public Communication/UNDIP/AKS & As3)
