UNDIP International Students Celebrate Ramadan in “Diponegoro International Students Gathering: Blessed Iftar”

UNDIP, Semarang (13/03) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) once again strengthened cross-cultural togetherness through the “Diponegoro International Students Gathering: Blessed Iftar”, held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Conference Hall, ICT Building, 5th Floor, UNDIP Tembalang Campus.

The event was attended by the Vice Rector IV for Research, Collaboration, Innovation, and Public Communication, representatives from the Directorate of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity (RKKG), the International Office, and international students from both degree and non-degree programs at UNDIP.

This activity was an integration of two regular programs of the International Office: the International Student Gathering and a Ramadan iftar gathering. By combining these activities, the event served not only as a networking platform for international students but also as a forum for interaction, consultation, and the introduction of Indonesian culture to students from various countries.

In his remarks, Wijayanto, Ph.D., Vice Rector IV of UNDIP, expressed appreciation for the presence of international students from around the world.

“On behalf of Universitas Diponegoro, I am pleased to welcome our international student dinner participants from across the globe. Their presence represents not only academic exchange but also cultural encounters, idea sharing, and friendships that enrich our university community,” he said.

He added that UNDIP continues to grow as a global campus that fosters international collaboration. “We are proud that UNDIP continues to develop as a global campus where students from various countries can learn, collaborate, and build mutual understanding. I hope their time here is filled with meaningful learning, warm friendships, and unforgettable experiences in Indonesia. As we say at UNDIP, noble and valuable,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Deputy Director of Partnership and Global Connectivity, explained that this year’s event, themed “Blessed Iftar,” was attended by dozens of UNDIP international students from various countries.

“Although not all students could attend due to academic and research commitments, we are pleased that 80 international students from 31 countries participated. This activity reflects the diversity of UNDIP’s international students and demonstrates the university’s strong commitment to internationalization and enhancing its global reputation,” he explained.

Through the Blessed Iftar event, Universitas Diponegoro not only provides academic experiences for international students but also introduces the values of togetherness, tolerance, and Indonesia’s cultural richness during the holy month of Ramadan. This activity is expected to strengthen global networks while enriching the cultural experiences of international students studying at UNDIP. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Pulung)
