DWP UNDIP Halalbihalal: Modern Kartini — Creating, Empowering, and Strengthening Togetherness

UNDIP, Semarang (17/4) – Dharma Wanita Persatuan of Universitas Diponegoro (DWP UNDIP) held a Halalbihalal gathering along with the commemoration of Kartini Day on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Entrepreneurship Building of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), UNDIP Tembalang Campus. The event carried the theme “Modern Kartini: Creating, Empowering, and Strengthening Togetherness.”

The event was attended by the UNDIP Rector and his leadership team, deans of faculties/schools and their staff, DWP UNDIP board members, coordinators of DWP activity units and their members, partner banks, and guests.

UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., who also serves as Advisor to DWP UNDIP, emphasized in his remarks that the family is the main pillar in shaping individuals.

“Personality is influenced by three factors: heredity, environment, and situation. With proper parenting and good examples within the family environment, we hope to raise children who are intelligent, pious, and adaptive—not permissive,” he stated.

In her speech, DWP UNDIP Chairperson, Dewi Suharnomo, said:

“Behind every successful man, a great woman is supporting him. A great Kartini is a woman who is empowered, capable of strengthening herself and her family, and able to contribute positively to society.”

The keynote speaker, Nawal Arafah Taj Yassin, delivered a message on the meaning of Halalbihalal. She explained that those who complete fasting possess the quality of ihsan.

“Those who complete fasting have the quality of ihsan—sincerely prioritizing greater needs over personal interests,” she said.

She further added, “Through Halalbihalal, we return to our pure state by forgiving one another. We forgive because we seek Allah’s forgiveness and help. When we orient ourselves toward Allah, we can remain sincere, grateful, and hopeful for His assistance—therefore, we should not depend on humans, but seek Allah’s pleasure,” she explained.

Chairperson of the organizing committee, Nora Faisal, stated that DWP FEB hosted the event in collaboration with DWP FISIP and that approximately 340 participants attended. She expressed hope that the event would strengthen bonds among members.

“Through this Halalbihalal and Kartini Day commemoration, we hope to strengthen togetherness, solidarity, and a sense of family among DWP UNDIP members, and to emulate the spirit of RA Kartini in educating and empowering Indonesian women,” she said.

The event was enlivened by various performances, including traditional dances (Beksan) by the Traditional Dance Unit featuring Golek Ayun-Ayun and Wira Pertiwi dances; a Kolintang music performance presenting Shalawat Badar and Keagungan Tuhan; a choir performance by New Permata Suara singing Taqabalallahu Minna Waminkum and Getuk; and a Line Dance performance featuring Payung Fantasi and Tor Monitor. A bazaar by the MSME Unit Usaha Bersama Maju Bersama DWP UNDIP was also held. (Public Communication/UNDIP/As3)
