UNDIP, Semarang (20/4) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has officially strengthened its global network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Chung Giwa Indonesia on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Rector’s Office, Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. This collaboration serves as a foundation for partnerships in education, language competency development, and international cooperation that bridges academia with the global industry.
UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., emphasized that this collaboration is a continuation of the university’s commitment to building an inclusive and world-class educational ecosystem. In his statement, he said, “UNDIP has established various partnerships aimed at expanding access for all members of the academic community on the global stage. This collaboration with PT Chung Giwa Indonesia is a concrete step to ensure that our students are not only strong theoretically but also well-prepared for the international job market.”
In his introductory remarks, Professor of the Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Dr. Drs. Singgih Tri Sulistiyono, M.Hum., provided further details on the initial focus of this strategic partnership. He explained that the collaboration will initially be centered on the Faculty of Humanities as a driving force, particularly in developing Korean language programs integrated with industry needs. He added that this synergy is expected to create valuable opportunities for students to gain direct experience in professional and cross-cultural environments.
The scope of this cooperation includes several key areas, such as the implementation of international internship programs and the operation of language classes at the UNDIP Korea Center. This partnership is expected to serve as a formal bridge for UNDIP to engage with institutions in South Korea closely related to cultural and industrial development. Additionally, the shared utilization of Korea Center facilities will be optimized as a training hub to produce graduates with strong linguistic and professional competencies.
Under this MoU, both parties have agreed to hold regular coordination meetings to ensure that all programs are executed in line with their objectives. Initiatives such as workshops, international seminars, and career mentoring will become integral parts of this collaboration. It is expected that this partnership will go beyond formal agreements and evolve into tangible programs that deliver long-term positive impacts for the academic community and industry partners. In conclusion, this collaboration reflects UNDIP’s commitment to producing outstanding graduates who are ready to compete globally while upholding national values.
