Strengthening Global Reputation, UNDIP Ranks 4th Nationally in UniRank 2026

UNDIP, Semarang (30/4) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has once again achieved a proud milestone by ranking 4th nationally in the UniRank 2026 Indonesian University Ranking. This achievement affirms UNDIP’s position as one of Indonesia’s leading universities, with its quality increasingly recognized at the national level.

Based on the ranking results, UNDIP is placed among the top four nationally, following Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and Telkom University (Tel-U). The next positions in the national top 10 are occupied by Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), BINUS University, Universitas Brawijaya (UB), IPB University, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), and Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU).

The Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., stated that this achievement is the result of the collective efforts of the entire academic community to strengthen UNDIP’s quality as an educational institution serving society.

“This achievement shows that UNDIP excels in the quality of its academic activities and is becoming stronger in building public trust as an educational institution that delivers professional academic processes,” he said. He further added that this achievement expands UNDIP’s impact in advancing knowledge and making real contributions to society.

As stated on its official website, UniRank uses a non-academic approach based on web metrics. The assessment measures universities’ visibility and digital presence using data from independent web intelligence sources rather than internal university reports.

The 2026 UniRank ranking covers 611 higher education institutions in Indonesia that meet at least three criteria: having official status, being registered or accredited by relevant higher education authorities in Indonesia; offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including master’s and doctoral degrees; and delivering most learning processes through face-to-face instruction rather than distance learning.

This achievement also reflects UNDIP’s consistent efforts to optimize information dissemination, research publications and academic activities across various digital platforms. In the era of digital transformation, institutional presence in the online space has become an important indicator in building reputation and global networks.

With this accomplishment, UNDIP remains committed to continuously improving the quality of education, research, and community service, while strengthening its position at both national and international levels.
