UNDIP, Semarang (4/5) – The National Board of Zakat Republic of Indonesia (BAZNAS) of Central Java Province distributes scholarships to students at several universities in Central Java, one of which is Universitas Diponegoro. The activity was held on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until completed at the Art Center Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. Also attended by the Head of BAZNAS Central Java and his staff, leaders and students from various BAZNAS scholarship acceptance campuses.
Dr. Ir. Abdul Syakur, ST, MT, IPU. as UNDIP’s Deputy Director of Student Affairs and Alumni in his speech said that education is important for the national progress through research and innovation. He advised the scholarship recipients to make the best use of the benefit for education. “We hope that students who receive BAZNAS scholarships can be used as well as possible for education, research and innovation,” said Dr. Syakur.
Dr. Syakur thanked the zakat givers and BAZNAS who were willing to give and distribute scholarships to students. “Hopefully the zakat givers and BAZNAS will get a jariyah charity that is willing to provide scholarships to students,” added Dr. Syakur.
Head of BAZNAS Central Java Dr. KH. Ahmad Darodji, M.Si. in his speech reminded that the recipients of zakat are grateful to the zakat giver and strive to utilize the scholarship for the betterment of the nation. In addition, he advised that humans can benefit other humans.
“Khoirunnas anfa ‘uhun linnas, humans must benefit other humans. Hopefully, those who are now recipients will one day give zakat or muzakki,” said Dr. Darodji.
The recipients of BAZNAS Central Java scholarships were 170 people from various universities in Central Java. With the following details, 27 from Universitas Diponegoro 28 from Universitas Sebelas Maret, 34 from UIN Walisongo, 38 from UIN Sunan Kudus, 33 from Wahid Hasyim University, 5 from IIM Surakarta, and 5 from Stikesmus.
