He had doubts about his ability to adapt, considering that he spent 6 years in a boarding school before go to college.

“It turns out that a long age gap is not an obstacle, instead I feel challenged to be on par with them,” he said.

In his statement, Pato Sayyaf emphasized that the title of the youngest graduate he earned was an honor based on collective support. “Being the youngest graduate does not mean the smartest or the greatest. This is only a bonus of a long journey of parental support and prayer, guidance from lecturers, and enthusiasm from friends,” he explained.

This success cannot be separated from the role of the academical community that shapes Pato’s character while on campus. He expressed his deep appreciation to the supervisors who not only transferred theoretical knowledge, but also instilled moral values. “Not only providing theory but also forming character to become a person of integrity,” said Pato.

In his reflection, Pato shared an inspiring message for fellow students to stay focused on self-development without falling into the trap of adverse social comparisons. He emphasized the importance of valuing the personal process with the principle, “Comparison is the thief of joy”. Pato advised that every student be able to maximize all the resources they have to become the best version of themselves.

Pato Sayyaf realized that this graduation was the first step of a long journey in contributing to society and the nation. With the spirit of integrity that has been internalized during the study period, he is optimistic to keep moving forward.
