UNDIP, Semarang (11/8) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held the inauguration of officials and the administration of oaths of office, as well as the swearing-in of Civil Servants (PNS), within the Universitas Diponegoro on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB). A total of 54 officials were inaugurated, including Directors, Deputy Directors, Heads of Study Programs, Managers and Supervisors, as well as two Civil Servants from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the Faculty of Humanities (FIB).
The inauguration ceremony was conducted solemnly by the UNDIP Rector, witnessed by the Chair of the Academic Senate, Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Vice Rector for Human Resources, Information Technology, Law, and Organization, Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T.
In his remarks, the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., delivered an in-depth presentation on the importance of human resource management, drawing on the job design approach and motivation theory.
“From the perspective of motivation theory, job design consists of three main aspects: job enrichment, job enlargement, and job rotation. In Western countries, this theory has proven highly effective (well supported). The implementation of job rotation and task enrichment can, in theory, make the challenges we face genuinely new. We are required to learn new things, build new communication, and adopt new approaches. This is what makes the dynamics of work more engaging, dynamic, and enjoyable from day to day,” he emphasized.
Furthermore, the UNDIP Rector encouraged all newly inaugurated officials and Civil Servants to apply the principles of Theory Y in their work, in which work is viewed as a natural form of contribution and worship.
“Our task is to shift from do-able activities to deliverable activities. From routine activities, we should ask ourselves again: Is it the effective way? Is it the efficient way? Is it the productive way? Let us shift toward deliverable activities—to deliver, add value, and contribute. We should also make 360-degree evaluation a habit so that task assignments are truly based on the principle of the right man in the right place,” he added.
The ceremony concluded with a joint prayer for guidance and smooth execution of their responsibilities by the newly appointed officials and Civil Servants. Following the prayer, the UNDIP Rector and university leadership personally congratulated all newly inaugurated officials and Civil Servants, followed by the attendees.
With the inauguration of the new officials and Civil Servants, Universitas Diponegoro is optimistic that it can strengthen institutional governance and continuously improve the quality of educational services. The new organizational structure and leadership renewal are expected to encourage academic innovation and improve efficiency, creating tangible benefits for the entire academic community.
