UNDIP, Semarang (2/6) – The commemoration of Pancasila Day at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) served as a momentum to reaffirm the university’s commitment to implementing the values of Pancasila through strengthened global collaboration, the advancement of knowledge, and the development of an academic environment that supports the progress of the academic community.
This message was conveyed during the 2026 Pancasila Day Flag Ceremony, held at Widya Puraya Field, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. On this occasion, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, delivered the official address of the Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila / BPIP) of the Republic of Indonesia and also conveyed a message from UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., who was attending activities at RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
In the BPIP address read by Prof. Heru, the theme of the 2026 Pancasila Day commemoration was “Pancasila: The Unifier of the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace.” The theme emphasizes the importance of Pancasila as a living and relevant ideology in addressing global challenges while serving as a foundation for Indonesia to maintain national unity and contribute to world peace.
This spirit aligns with UNDIP’s ongoing efforts to expand international collaboration networks and strengthen the role of higher education in national development. During the ceremony, Prof. Heru also delivered a message from Rector Suharnomo regarding his visit to RWTH Aachen University to strengthen international academic and research partnerships.
“We have sent four Ph.D. students whose studies are fully funded by the Ministry. Our collaboration with RWTH Aachen also opens up many opportunities, not only in the circular economy but also in highly strategic areas such as semiconductors and other advanced technologies. Let us continue to foster the spirit of collaboration with leading scientists and top universities around the world,” Prof. Suharnomo stated.
According to the Rector, strengthening international cooperation is a crucial part of UNDIP’s efforts to enhance the quality of education, research, and innovation. Such collaborations are expected to create broader opportunities for human resource development while reinforcing the university’s contribution to addressing global challenges through science and technology.
In addition to promoting international partnerships, the Rector reaffirmed UNDIP’s commitment to providing an increasingly supportive and comfortable academic environment. This commitment has been reflected in the development of various facilities in recent years, including the UNDIP Stadium Athletic Track, Diponegoro EduPark, and the DipoCare Educational Pharmacy. These facilities are expected to support learning activities, research, and personal development for the university’s academic community.
Through this year’s Pancasila Day commemoration, UNDIP reaffirmed its dedication to making Pancasila values the foundation for the implementation of higher education.
