Until now, number of Diponegoro University (Undip) graduates are 197,753 persons. They graduated from various faculties and study programs. The alumni are not only from undergraduate program, but also from diploma and postgraduate program.
Undip alumni are living in cities of Indonesia, much of them are living abroad. For improving alumni network, so they can stay connected each other in better ways, Undip built an online alumni database accessible via internet on 2017.
“Advances in information technology have provided faster, easier, and more portable access. Therefore, Undip’s Directorate of Alumni Communication and Connection build an android application for alumni database integrated into the existing alumni website,” said Mujid F Amin, the Director of Alumni Communication and Connection.
Abdul Syakur, Team Leader of Developing Alumni Database said the application for alumni database has uploaded at Playstore, so Undip graduates can download and intsall it on their android handphone if they want to use. The application ease graduates to register as Undip alumni, and to edit their data. Now, there are 126,654 registered alumni or 64% of total Undip alumni.
The application provides some features:
- Registering alumni for new graduates, or updating data for the registered alumni.
- Posting news story or information of job vacancies, career opportunities, and others.
- Searching for friend of cross study program, cross department, and cross faculty.
Vice.Rector for Communication and Bussiness Budi Setiyono, Ph. D hope the application can enhance network of alumni and increase collaboration of alumni and almamater. “This application will make all of alumni to stay connected as a big family,” Budi said.
