UNDIP’s Commitment to Improve Student Welfare by Providing Nutritious Food

One of the programs from the Rector of Diponegoro University (Undip) is the distribution of nutritious food to Undip students for free. This activity has been carried out continuously since the first launch in early September. The distribution of nutritious food is held every Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 11:00 WIB. Currently, the location for the distribution of nutritious food has been added to three points at the Undip Tembalang campus, namely in the Undip Student Center yard, in the hallway of FPIK Undip, the parking lot of SA-MWA Undip, and at the Undip Pleburan campus, which is located at the Imam Barjo Auditorium. This event is a series of activities to welcome the 65th Anniversary of Undip and in order to improve the welfare of Undip students, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.

In his speech at the launch of the distribution of nutritious food, Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. said that the number of meals and the number of days of food distribution would be gradually increased in the next period. The mission was realized on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 where the amount of food distributed increases with a menu that is more varied and of course nutritious too.

Supadmi, S.IP., Supervisor of the Subdivision of Student Welfare and Alumni Services Undip explained that in carrying out this program, the Department of Student Affairs Undip cooperated with the BEM KESMA Undip. The food menu is coordinated with U-Food, taking into account beneficial nutrients in order to increase students’ energy in carrying out further activities. “In one day we distribute 1450 portions of food, at the Undip Tembalang campus there are three points of 400 servings each, and at the Undip Pleburan campus there are 250 portions of food to be distributed to students,” said Supadmi, S.IP. as coordinator of the distribution of Undip nutritious food.

Nutritious food in the form of rice bowls with different menu variations every day is now equipped with beverage supplements in accordance with direct instruction from the Undip Rector. “The distribution of nutritious food is a sustainable agenda until the end of this year, and hopefully it can continue in the following year,” said Supadmi, S.IP.
