BATANG – As a manifestation of the Community Development and Empowerment Program (P3M), the Study Program Off Main Campus (PSDKU) Diponegoro University (Undip) Batang Campus encouraged MSMEs around campus to take part in MSMEs Branding training, on Saturday (12/11/2022) . This training was held at the PSDKU Undip Batang Campus and facilitated by the D3 Public Relations Study Program with the aim that the campus which is located in Tumbrep Village, Batang Regency can have an impact on the surrounding environment through the activities it carries out.
Lecturer in the D3 Public Relations Study Program, Irawati Sri Wulandari S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom, as well as a speaker at the MSMEs Branding training, said that the purpose of this training was to encourage the economy of Tumbrep Village residents who have MSMEs businesses so that they become more developed through product branding.
“With this training, it is hoped that it can help local residents so that their business can grow even bigger,” said Irawati.
In line with this, Dr. Drs. Retno Dwi Irianto, MM as a senior lecturer at PSDKU Undip Batang expressed her appreciation for the implementation of the Training on MSMEs Product Branding.
“As a former bureaucrat for more than 30 years, I understand Batang’s condition in detail. This branding training can be a means to run your business in a more professional manner,” she said while giving a briefing address representing the Head of the Off-Campus Study Program Management Institute (LPPSDKU), Dr. Redyanto Noor, M. Hum.
During the Branding Training, MSMEs actors were enthusiastic about participating in the training. Many of them who are MSMEs actors in the food and online fashion business are taught how to compare their business not just by giving a name to the product, but also need clear specifications so that it is known by many people.
Irawati added, the participation of MSMEs actors in the Training on MSMEs Product Branding would later be realized in an expo activity which is planned to be held on the upcoming (24/11/2022) in the Undip Batang Campus area. Later, MSMEs actors will be facilitated by selling stands so they can introduce their products directly to consumers and provide opportunities for promotion. This Expo is open to the public and there are also exhibitions of students’ works in it.
