Signing of MoU and Cooperation Agreement between Rembang Regency Government and Undip

Rembang – Located in the Hall of Regional Secretariat of Rembang Regency Government, an MoU was signed between Rembang Regency Government and Diponegoro University (Undip) on Tuesday (01/12/2020). Rembang Regency Government is represented by out by the Acting Regent of Rembang and Undip is represented by Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs. This MoU is an extension of the previous MoU which ended in 2020.

In his remarks, Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono said that Diponegoro University as one of the best universities in Indonesia is always committed to contribute in national development, especially in Central Java areas. The existence of Study Program Outside the Main Campus (Program Studi Di luar Kampus Utama) of Undip Campus Rembang is a proof of Undip’s commitment. Undip continuously implements the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, elements of Education including providing up to 40% quota for outstanding students coming from Undip PSDKU districts, so that they have the opportunity to get quality education. As for the elements of research and community service, Undip will involve lecturers and students to participate in providing solutions of problems that exist in society through research schemes and community service programs funded by Institute for Research and Community Service of Undip (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Undip). In addition, Prof. Budi said that in the next year, several study programs would be established in accordance with Undip’s strategic plan based on the results of a joint study between Undip and Rembang Regency Government.

Meanwhile, Drs Imam Maskur, M.Si (Acting Regent of Rembang), in his speech really appreciated  Undip for the effort to the improvement of Rembang Regency. According to him, Undip’s PSDKU in Rembang Regency has a steady positive impact on improving economy field and creating a local education climate. The presence of hundreds of students at PSDKU Campus from various regions in Indonesia has brought new nuances to the dynamics of the city and helps to stimulate economic activities of Rembang Regency. In the future, Acting Regent of Rembang hopes that the establishment of new study programs can be realized immediately according to expectations of Rembang Regency Government. Therefore the graduates who are especially from this region, can take part and give color to the progress of Rembang Regency.

As a follow-up to the MoU, at the same time a Cooperation Agreement was signed between 11 Regional Apparatus Organizations, Regional Institutions, and PSDKU Management Institution. Regional Apparatus Organizations and Regional Institutions are represented by Head of Regional Development Planning Agency (Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah/BAPPEDA), Ir. Dwi Wahyuni Hariyati, MM. In her speech, she welcomed the stage of making and implementing the Cooperation Agreement as a form of follow-up to the MoU between Rembang Regency Government and Undip. At the Cooperation Agreement signing, the PSDKU Management Institution is represented by Dr. Redyanto Noor, M. Hum. As Chair of PSDKU Management Institution, Redyanto stated that he would always work together and coordinate with related agencies as efforts of Undip’s PSDKU in advancing regional potential in Central Java, especially in Rembang Regency.
