In addition, Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip, Dr. Hardi Warsono, MTP., explained that Alumni has a very strategic position in advancing Undip. Alumni who have achievements in the midst of social life are certainly very helpful in branding a university. Therefore, Alumni must be designed to have a smart and strong network. Moreover, they are designed to love the Alma mater and proud to be Alumni.

“Conducive academic communication is the key. There are institutions, strong alumni ties, and intensive sharing information. This strong and smart network will be able to become main step in building higher education,” said Dr. Hardi Warsono, MTP.

To create a strong Alumni Network, Alumni Associations and universities need to build synergies and good communication. “In the future, after this activity, we really hope that synergy can be carried out because in this global world, synergy is very important,” said Deputy Head of Undip Rating Office, Dessy Ariyanti, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.

After synergies and communication have created a strong Alumni Network, it is necessary to take sides with the Alma mater itself. “Now is the opportunity for the alma mater and also the Alumni Association of Undip to take sides wherever we are. So that the career path can be monitored by Alumni Association of Undip,” said one of Alumni of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip who also serves as Inspector General of Ministry of Industry, Masrokhan. In addition, it is necessary to increase the intensity of communication between Alumni and universities in order to create a wider Alumni Network. “The alma mater must be active in communicating, then Alumni Association of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences certainly needs to take deeper approaches to alumni who are working in various ranks and fields of work,” he added.

Deputy Editor in Chief of Kompas TV, Yogi Arief Nugraha, added that Alumni can become campus Brand Ambassadors. By utilizing all-digital communication, Alumni can promote information and campus activities to the people around them, so that a good image and connection will be built. “These alumni have become campus Brand Ambassadors. In an all-digital situation, everything is interconnected,” said Yogi Arief. “However, there are times when important information about campus for Alumni in the context of collaboration does not reach them, so that there is a communication distance between alumni and campus,” he continued.

With global challenges and entering the industrial era 5.0, it is necessary to have good communication so that it can increase collaboration between alumni and campus. (Dhany-PR)
