Recently, the Logistics Management & Administration Undergraduate Applied Study Program, Vocational School, Diponegoro University, held a 2022 Seminar on Logistics, with the theme “Developing Supply Chain and Logistics Distribution in Order to Increase Domestic Product Competitiveness”. This seminar presented two speakers, Luluk Lusiantoro, M.Sc, Ph.D, a lecturer at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) as well as representative from the UGM Center for Supply Chain & Logistics Studies, and Dyah Wahyu Purbandari, S.Si, M.T, an Associate Expert Policy Analyst on Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The event was moderated by Titik Djumiarti, S.Sos, M.Si, a lecturer and Secretary of the Logistics Management & Administration, Vocational School, Diponegoro University.
This seminar is one of a series of events for the 3rd Anniversary of the Logistics Management & Administration Undergraduate Applied Study Program, Vocational School, Diponegoro University. This event was opened by Dr. Edy Raharja, SE, M.Si, Head of the Department of Business and Finance, as well as Head of the Logistics Management & Administration Undergraduate Applied Study Program, Vocational School, Diponegoro University. “Logistics costs in Indonesia are still quite high, so a breakthrough is needed in this problem. These challenges include strengthening human resources in the logistics sector,” he said.
Luluk Lusiantoro, M.Sc, Ph.D, as the first speaker presented his material with the theme “Logistics, Supply Chain, and Competitiveness”. He stated that every company needs to prioritize its competitiveness. Ideally, this competition is not only meant to compete with other companies, but also to compete and collaborate at the same time. Companies need to identify Suppliers, Customers, New Entrants, and Substitutes. On the other hand, Dyah Wahyu Purbandari, S.Si, M.T, explained her material related to “National Logistics System Policy in Supporting the Competitiveness of National Products”. Dyah explained that economic activity in Indonesia is still centered on the island of Java. Furthermore, this imbalance in production on the island of Java and outside Java has resulted in inefficiency in sea transportation due to a shortage of counter-charges from areas in eastern Indonesia (balance cargo). The government encourages this efficiency by issuing Presidential Regulation Number 26 of 2012 concerning the Blueprint for the Development of the National Logistics System. This seminar was lively, attended by more than 455 participants from students and lecturers. Some of the participants consisted of academics from UNDIP, UGM, Brawijaya University, ITHB, Politeknik Bumi Akpelni, Politeknik Energi dan Mineral Akamigas, UNS, STIE Eben Haezar, Sam Ratulangi University, Politeknik Negeri Manado, Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines), Politeknik Rukun Abdi Luhur Kudus, Jember University, and so on.
