Discussing Renewable Energy Sovereignty and Transition 2060, BEM UNDIP Held 2022 Diponegoro Lawyer Club

The Diponegoro University Student Executive Board (BEM Undip) held the 2022 Diponegoro Lawyer Club activity on Sunday (13/11) in the 5th Floor, Hall of the Dean Building, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (FT Undip).

This activity was attended by the Chairperson of IKA Undip, Head of BEM Undip, representatives of members of BEM and Senates of Faculties and Vocational Schools at Diponegoro University, Diponegoro University alumni, and professional practitioners in the energy sector.

The 2022 Diponegoro Lawyer Club is a discussion and dialogue activity which is related to the 2022 Diponegoro Fair activities, as part of a series of celebrations for the 65th Anniversary of Diponegoro University. 2022 Diponegoro Lawyer Club raised the theme “Indonesia Towards Renewable Energy Sovereignty and Transition 2060”.

Representing the General Chair of IKA Undip, Desmon Hastiono as Secretary General of IKA Undip officially opened the event and gave high appreciation for the 2022 Diponegoro Lawyer Club. “With the theme of New and Renewable Energy (EBT), I appreciate it. In fact, Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources, but it has not been managed properly. I salute BEM Undip who raised this theme.” Desmon said.

Furthermore, Desmon invited all Diponegoro University students and alumni to actively participate in voicing constructive ideas. “Ideas from fellow students, please channel them out. We must have the courage to voice our ideas and thought.” he said.

The Head of BEM Undip represented by the Head of External Partnerships BEM Undip, Noor Khafid said that the 2022 Diponegoro Lawyer Club was present as a discussion space for fellow students so that they could help oversee policies and sustainability of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) to create a clean and sustainable energy system.

The event continued with a discussion session. The discussion session was divided into three stages based on the cases raised. In this session, an opportunity was given to each audience member who is an expert in a field related to the case or student representatives to express their views in accordance with the moderator’s guidelines.

It is hoped that this activity will become a forum and event to improve the critical thinking skills of Undip students, a place to exchange ideas, and convey constructive arguments, especially on issues that are currently being discussed in Indonesia, one of which is New and Renewable Energy (EBT) by looking at it from various perspectives.
