Innovative Products of Diponegoro University (Undip) named Indonesian Bionic Assistance Hand received appreciation from the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto during the Inauguration of the State Defense Central Hospital (RS PPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, on Monday (19/02).
Indonesian Bionic Hand was developed by the Center for Excellence for Higher Education and Technology (PUI PT) Health Technology Center for Bio Mechanics, Bio Material, Bio Mechatronics, and Bio Signal Processing (CBIOM3S) Undip involved collaboration among engineers, doctors, and medical personnel in research and development of their products.
“This morning, I represented Undip as a researcher, invited to the inauguration of the State Defense Central Hospital (RS PPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman in South Jakarta. This hospital serves as a Rehabilitation Center for TNI Soldiers, particularly those with amputations. One of the revolutionary products appointed was the Undip Bionic Hand product worn by TNI-AU staff,” explained Dr. Rifky Ismail, S.T., M.T. as the Chairman of CBIOM3S Undip.
This Indonesian Bionic Hand is a prosthesis with a mechatronic system that uses batteries, motors, sensors, and mechanical systems to help people with under-elbow amputation perform daily activities better.
Indonesian Bionic Hand has 7 movements that can carry out various daily tasks and help amputees engage in activities more effectively.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the State Defense Central Hospital (RS PPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta. This inauguration also inaugurated 19 other TNI hospitals. The inauguration was held on Monday (2/19/2024) at 09.00 Western Indonesia Time. Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo accompanied Jokowi.
Also present was Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, KSAD General Maruli Simanjuntak, KSAL Muhammad Ali, KSAU Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, Chairman of Commission I DPR Meutya Hafid, and former Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto.
