UNDIP Supports KPK in Eradicating Corruption Crimes

The Rector of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) and the Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding between KPK of the Republic of Indonesia and Diponegoro University on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in the Rector’s Meeting Room at Diponegoro University. The Academic Senate, Vice Rectors, and Deans of Faculty and School witnessed the signing process. The Memorandum of Understanding outlines the cooperation in efforts to eradicate corruption.

Alexander Mawarta, the Deputy Chairman of the KPK, stated that much work remains to be done to achieve a corruption-free Indonesia, including strengthening the youth through education from schools to universities.

“This is our task in building society and the education system, which we believe should be free from corruption,” he said in his remarks.

He also urged the entire campus community to be cautious during the regional elections (Pilkada), which are prone to corruption and violations.

In response to the Deputy Chairman’s statement, the UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., mentioned that UNDIP has developed 17 Action Plans for Corruption Eradication. “With this cooperation, I believe we can strengthen our efforts in more comprehensive corruption prevention,” he said.

He also stated that UNDIP is ready to implement Anti-Corruption Education on campus once clear SOPs are provided by the KPK and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

The event continued with a discussion on Anti-Corruption Education on campus, led by Aida Ratna Zulaiha, the Director of the KPK Education Network. During the discussion, Aida Ratna Zulaiha stated that the KPK and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology have prepared the most standard Anti-Corruption Education modules, which will continue to be developed and integrated into related courses.

“The KPK will invite and guide UNDIP and seven other universities to implement structured Anti-Corruption Education,” she said. (Ani/Sahila-Public Relations)
