A total of 548 Diponegoro University (UNDIP) students from Team II of the 2023/2024 academic year have started their Community Service Program (KKN) in several sub-districts within the Karanganyar Regency. The Acting Regent of Karanganyar directly received the KKN students at the KKN Team II UNDIP Arrival Ceremony held at Pendopo Raden Mas Said, the Official Residence of the Karanganyar Regent, on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
This event was attended by the Acting Regent of Karanganyar, the Head of the Karanganyar Regency Education and Culture Office, the Head of the Karanganyar Regency Development Planning and Research Agency (Baperlitbang), the Head of the Karanganyar Regency Tourism, Youth, and Sports Office, sub-district heads in Karanganyar Regency, the Secretary of the Community Service Program Center (P2KKN), the UNDIP KKN Coordinator for the Karanganyar Regency area, and KKN Supervising Lecturers.
The UNDIP KKN Team II students were handed over directly by P2KKN Secretary Satriyo Adhy, S.Si., M.T. to the Acting Regent of Karanganyar, Timotius Suryadi, S.Sos., M.Si. The Acting Regent of Karanganyar welcomed the KKN students who will carry out their service program in the Karanganyar Regency area. He hopes that the KKN students can integrate and build synergy with the people of Karanganyar Regency and produce something that is directly beneficial to the community.
“KKN is learning about life. It’s not just about applying campus knowledge but also learning to absorb life lessons and togetherness from the community. Enjoy and carry it out well. Hopefully, you can integrate and synergize with the community and help them gain better insights and enrich the civilization in the villages where you will conduct your KKN,” he said.
In his speech, P2KKN Secretary Satriyo Adhy, S.Si., M.T., felt honored by the welcome given by the Karanganyar Regency Government. “We feel honored and grateful for the opportunity given by UNDIP. From this KKN activity, there might be follow-up programs besides KKN, such as research and community service. UNDIP is ready to accept various collaborations to build Indonesia,” said the P2KKN Secretary.
Additionally, UNDIP has requested support from the Karanganyar Regency Government and the community so that the implementation of community service activities can run smoothly. “This activity will not succeed without the involvement and support of the community and government. We ask for our mutual synergy and collaboration, as it is a key factor in achieving our goal of being maximally beneficial,” he added.
In Karanganyar Regency, 548 students will be placed in several sub-districts, including Gondangrejo, Jaten, Kebakkramat, Mojogedang, Tasikmadu, Kerjo, and Karanganyar. With the theme “Inclusive Community Empowerment Through Superior Potential,” it is hoped that the KKN students can manage local potential and implement their knowledge in the community.
