Universitas Diponegoro – Semarang (7/9). Andrea Pramesti Putri, a 5th-semester student from the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Diponegoro, won a gold medal and secured 1st place in the women’s seriosa singing competition at the (National Student Arts Week) / Peksiminas XVII 2024. The event was held at Universitas Negeri Jakarta from September 2 to 7, 2024. Andrea’s achievement helped the Jawa Tengah contingent to reach a victory as the overall champion of Peksiminas 2024. In her performance, Andrea sang the mandatory song “Perjumpaan (in memoriam)” and her chosen song “Elegie,” successfully surpassing other participants to claim the 1st place title.
Peksiminas, or National Student Arts Week, is one of the programs designed to develop students’ talents and interests in the arts, managed and produced by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI) under the National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Every year, BPTI organizes talent competitions in various fields. Within the framework of the National Talent Management Program (MTN), the Indonesian Talent Development Center conducts continuous coaching to produce outstanding talent in the fields of research and innovation, arts and culture, and sports. One of the programs for developing students’ skills and interests in the arts is Peksiminas.
The Peksiminas XVII 2024 adopted the theme “Independent in Achievement, Inspiring Artistic Talent.” It held 15 competitions, including dangdut singing, seriosa singing, keroncong singing, pop singing, vocal group, poetry reading, monologue, dance, short story writing, playwriting, poetry writing, social campaign media design, painting, comic strip, and photography. Students from each province participated in these competitions, as recommended by the Indonesian Student Arts Development Board (BPSMI). The organizing committee of the Peksiminas XVII 2024 was BPSMI from DKI Jakarta Province.
In the women’s seriosa singing category, 1st place was won by Andrea Pramesti Putri, a student from Diponegoro University representing BPSMI Central Java Province, followed by 2nd place from the ISI Yogyakarta, and 3rd place from Universitas Tanjungpura. Andrea’s victory contributed to BPSMI Central Java Province being crowned the overall champion of the Peksiminas XVII 2024.
Accompanying the Universitas Diponegoro’s contingent at the Peksiminas XVII 2024 held at Universitas Negeri Jakarta, the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau of Diponegoro University, Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Si., expressed gratitude for Andrea Pramesti Putri’s victory in winning 1st place in the women’s seriosa singing competition. “Alhamdulillah, Universitas Diponegoro contributed by winning a gold medal for the BPSMI Jawa Tengah contingent’s victory. Hopefully, this achievement will inspire other students to create and achieve more,” said Edy Surahmad. (Ut-PR)
