UNDIP Collaborates with PT Pertamina Retail in Reopening UNDIP’s SPBU

Semarang, October 3, 2024 – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) proudly announces the reopening of the Public Fuel Filling Station (Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar Umum / SPBU) located within the Tembalang campus area as part of a strategic partnership with PT Pertamina Retail through the Technical Assistant Contract (TAC) scheme. This initiative is part of an effort to enhance campus services for the academic community and surrounding residents while also maintaining the quality of services provided by UNDIP’s SPBU to the people of Semarang, particularly in the Tembalang area and its surroundings.

This collaboration was realized through the active role of the Business Commercial Unit Management and Risk Analysis Agency (BP-UBIKAR), led by Dr. Andriyani, S.E., M.M. BP-UBIKAR is an organization established to manage various commercial business units within UNDIP and plays a significant role in the economic development of the campus.

The head of BP-UBIKAR, Dr. Andriyani, S.E., M.M., stated, “We are very enthusiastic about the success of this partnership. The reopening of the SPBU within the campus is an important step in providing the best service for students, faculty members, staff, and the general public and supporting the energy needs of the campus more efficiently and in an integrated manner.”

The Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., also added in his remarks, “The collaboration with PT Pertamina Retail demonstrates UNDIP’s commitment to developing sustainable business units. Today’s event is a concrete example of collaboration between higher education and the industrial world, which can bring economic and social benefits.” The theme “Rebound Movement for Stronger Retail” serves as a swift response to make UNDIP’s SPBU the preferred choice. When people ask, “Where should I refuel?” The answer should be “At UNDIP’s SPBU.” This can be achieved through enhanced services and reliable management,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

The SPBU offers Pertamina’s premium products, including Pertamax and Dexlite, and is equipped with eco-friendly facilities in line with Pertamina Retail standards. Additionally, the SPBU is expected to become a business model that fosters an entrepreneurial spirit among students.

Meanwhile, PT PERTAMINA RETAIL’s Director of Commercial & Operations, Fedy Alberto, expressed, “We are honored and proud to partner with Diponegoro University. This SPBU will not only serve as a fuel provider but also as an educational hub for students on sustainable business practices.” As a Chemical Engineering alumnus of UNDIP, he stated that he is ready to manage UNDIP’s SPBU, including its management and financial aspects.

With the reopening of this SPBU, it is hoped that access to energy and public services for the campus community and nearby residents will become more accessible and more efficient. The UNDIP’s SPBU will also promote innovation in the management of business units within higher education institutions. (KWU/ Ut-Public Relations)
