Fidel, FEB UNDIP Graduate: Knowledge and Experience

UNDIP – Semarang (November 6, 2024). Universitas Diponegoro held the 176th graduation ceremony for 2024, attended by 3,826 graduates, at the Muladi Dome Multipurpose Building (GSG) UNDIP, Tembalang Campus, from November 4 to 7, 2024. Out of the total graduates, 2,476, or 64.72%, achieved the cum laude honor.

One of the cum laude graduates was Fidel Kreshnayuda from the Faculty of Economics and Business, who graduated with a perfect GPA of 4.00. He was admitted to UNDIP in 2020 through the independent IUP (International Undergraduate Program) pathway in the Management study program. He chose the IUP pathway due to his expectation of learning English and selected the Management study program due to his strong interest in business and finance.

Fidel completed his studies in 3 years, 9 months, and 25 days. This completion was 3 months later than his initial expectation of completing his studies in 3.5 years, as he participated in a double-degree program at Saxion University in the Netherlands for one year.

During his studies at UNDIP, he focused on two main things: acquiring knowledge and enriching his experiences. “My priority was, of course, to study and understand the lessons provided at the university. However, beyond that, I was active in various organizations during my early semesters, such as the Faculty of Economics and Business Senate and StudentsxCEOs Semarang (an off-campus organization focused on professional development). In the mid-semesters, I ventured into the internship world, working with PT Undip Mandiri Aneka Jasa Usaha. I also ran a side business by selling products,” he revealed.

These activities align with UNDIP’s goal of preparing competent graduates who can either run their businesses, become qualified job seekers or continue their studies.

During his studies, Fidel gained many experiences. “While studying at UNDIP, I met people with diverse characteristics. I learned adaptation and the importance of flexibility. I learned how to manage myself well and gained an understanding of what the real world is like. The lecturers and staff at UNDIP provided me with many opportunities to grow and engage in discussions. I am delighted with my choice to study at UNDIP. I would like to extend special thanks to Mr. Erman, Mr. Tedhie, Mr. Kardison, Ms. Afina, and many others for being part of my academic journey here. The most important lesson for me is to remain humble and treat everyone as equals,” he said.

“During my time in college, I only participated in one competition, the Business Case Competition organized by FEB. It was on a national level. My friends Michelle and Krissanti invited me. Initially, I was hesitant to join, but I thought, why not give it a try? In the end, we managed to win 1st place in that competition,” he explained.

For Fidel, life is colorful, full of uniqueness, and constantly changing. Therefore, mastering skills that prepare us to face these aspects of life is critical. If we go through it without assistance, we might learn how to face life’s challenges, but it would come with a lot of hardships and failures. “So, it’s better to prepare these skills through education and organizations because they can be one of the keys to successfully facing life’s colors without enduring too much pain during the ups and downs,” he concluded.
