UNDIP Community Service Students Invite Elders to Participate in Hypertension Exercise

Kalangan Village, August 2, 2024 – In an effort to improve community health, UNDIP Community Service (Kuliah Kerja Nyata / KKN) Team II students in Kalangan Village organized a hypertension exercise program with significant benefits. Aimed at addressing hypertension, the team conducted exercises that were not only effective but also enjoyable. This activity sought to provide education and practical training to help residents manage their blood pressure. Held on Friday, August 2, 2024, dozens of participants attended the event, primarily hypertension patients and elders.

“Hypertension is a serious issue for many people, especially elders. That is why we want to offer a simple yet effective solution through these exercises,” explained Selvi Dwi Puji Asih, the program coordinator.

In a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, the residents of Kalangan Village, particularly elders and those with hypertension, participated in a series of exercises specifically designed to lower high blood pressure. With direct supervision from students and medical professionals, the event provided a simple yet impactful preventive method.

The activity began with a presentation on hypertension. Participants were given a comprehensive understanding of the condition, covering its causes, symptoms, and prevention strategies. This session was followed by hypertension exercises, which everyone participated in.
