UNDIP Community Service Students Showcase Innovative Products from the Wonosobo Regency

UNDIP, Semarang (February 12) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) continues its commitment to community engagement through the Community Service Team II for the 2024/2025 academic year program. One of the designated locations for this initiative is Wonosobo Regency, Jawa Tengah, where students have been assigned to several villages across Kepil and Kalibawang Districts.

On February 12, 2025, UNDIP Community Service Team II in Wonosobo Regency held an Exhibition of Innovative Works themed “Samagama Rasa.” This event showcased various local products and innovations developed by students based on the unique potentials of each village where they served. This exhibition was held at the Kepil Field.

The exhibition was attended by the Head of the UNDIP Community Service Center (Pusat Pelayanan Kuliah Kerja Nyata / P2KKN), Adnan Fauzi, S.T., M.Kom.; Regional Coordinator for Wonosobo Regency, Dr. Fuad Muhammad, S.Si., M.Si.; Deputy Regent of Wonosobo Regency, Drs. H. Muhammad Albar, M.M.; along with local leaders from Kepil and Kalibawang Districts.

In his speech, Deputy Regent Muhammad Albar expressed his appreciation for the community service students’ contributions to Wonosobo Regency. He hoped that more regions would be included in future community service programs so that students could continue to develop innovations and creativity based on real community needs. “We sincerely thank UNDIP for giving Wonosobo Regency the opportunity to host these outstanding students. Their creativity and innovation in various villages of Kepil and Kalibawang Districts have been truly inspiring for our community,” he said.

He also emphasized that Wonosobo Regency is always open to future community service programs, stating, “We warmly welcome community service students in Wonosobo so that together, we can explore and develop village potentials to support the progress of our region.”

Meanwhile, Head of P2KKN UNDIP, Adnan Fauzi, highlighted that the community service program is not just about implementing academic knowledge but also about learning from and engaging with the community. “Community Service is more than just applying theories learned in class. It is also an opportunity for students to interact with village leaders and residents, understand local conditions, and contribute to real solutions,” he explained.

He also hoped that students could inspire local children to pursue higher education while simultaneously helping villages identify their strengths and challenges to develop sustainable solutions. “That way, they can provide an overview of the world of college and encourage them to continue their education to a higher level,” added the Head of P2KKN.

Various products were exhibited at this work exhibition. Not only culinary but also several technological breakthroughs resulted from ideas from community service students who utilized the potential of the villages where they served. The culinary product breakthroughs exhibited included innovations in processed cassava products, making nutritious nuggets, producing palm sugar, and many more. The technologies offered were also diverse, including making Smoke-Minimizing Devices, Making Eco-Bricks from Plastic Waste, Modernizing Animal Feed Equipment, Processing Briquettes and so on.

This community service program is expected to benefit not only students but also the wider community. In addition to helping develop village potential, the presence of students is expected to inspire the younger generation to continue their education to a higher level. (Hng-Public Relations)
