DipoXpo 2025: A Showcase of Collaboration, Creativity, and Innovation

UNDIP, Semarang (September 11, 2025) – DipoXpo 2025, the annual student organization exhibition at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), was officially held September 10–11, 2025, at Prof. Sudarto, S.H. Building courtyard, Tembalang Campus. Organized by the UNDIP Student Executive Board (BEM) through its Campus Harmonization Division, the event featured more than 48 booths, including student activity units (UKM), student organizations, food stalls, sponsor tenants, and DipoXpo merchandise.

This year’s theme, Renaitre de ses cendres—which means “reborn from its ashes”—was paired with the concept of “Renaissance Culturalistic Y2K,” reflecting a revival of early 2000s culture infused with innovation and new energy. DipoXpo 2025 aimed to serve as a platform for collaboration, creativity, and innovation, while encouraging students to transform and engage actively in campus life.

Opening the event, UNDIP Vice Rector for Academics and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., emphasized the importance of using free time to build competencies through positive activities.

“Whatever it is outside the classroom—whether student organizations or UKM—choose what fits you to make the best use of your time. We are free to choose what we do, but we are not free from the consequences of our choices,” Prof. Heru said.

“To succeed in competition, we must have something that sets us apart, one of which is joining student activities that match our competencies. But academic duties must remain the top priority,” he added.

“We agree that lectures are a student’s primary responsibility, but they are not enough. We must equip ourselves by participating in various activities to enhance our competence and creativity,” explained Prof. Heru.

DipoXpo 2025 also marked a shift from previous years by inviting not only UKM at the university level but also faculty-level student organizations. Event chair Zyandra Athiyya Gitafreya said she hoped the exhibition would foster collaboration. “This is not just a stage to showcase work, but also a space for collaboration among UKM and external partners,” she said.

President of UNDIP’s Student Executive Board, Aufa Atha Ariq Aoraqi, echoed the sentiment, explaining that the fair presented a wide range of student activity units and organizations.

“Of course, there are several booths for student organizations and other organizations today. You can also see and find information about their direction,” said Aufa.

“The UKMs presented are not only university-level, but also faculty-level. We hope that with the many UKMs and student organizations, new students can be active outside of class. This way, new students will understand that studying isn’t just about the classroom, but also about being active in activities outside of class,” Aufa hoped.

UKMs and student organizations play a vital role in campus life, providing a platform for students to develop and channel their interests, hobbies, and talents. Therefore, with DipoXpo 2025, new UNDIP students can learn more about each UKM and student organization that interests them before deciding to join a particular one.

The event continued with a red ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by:

  1. The Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T.;
  2. The Director of Student Affairs and Alumni, Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Si.;
  3. The Chairperson of the 2025 UNDIP Student Executive Board, Aufa Atha Ariq Aoraqi;
  4. The Chairperson of the DipoXpo 2025 Executive Committee, Zyandra Athiyya Gitafreya.

One of the highlights was ALUMNITALKS, where inspiring alumni shared experiences with first-year students. On the first day, law alumna Syaloomitha Meirika Maranatha encouraged students to carefully consider the benefits and commitments before joining a student activity unit (UKM).

“In considering the suitability of the activity with our vision and mission, as well as our lifestyle, it is necessary to conduct a thorough evaluation of the potential impacts and benefits that can be obtained, as well as the possible time allocation required,” he said.

On the second day, psychology alumna Claudia Giovanni Christi offered tips on balancing academics with extracurricular activities.

“Effective time management is not just limited to time management, but also encompasses comprehensive self-management, including health management, emotional management, and energy optimization,” said Claudia.

She said that through student activities, she gained confidence, developed a bold mindset, and built valuable communication soft skills.

The program also featured self-presentations from each UKM, student organization, sponsor, and food tenant, giving newcomers a detailed look at campus opportunities.

With the spirit of Renaitre de ses cendres, DipoXpo 2025 was expected to help UNDIP students rise, transform, and grow into competent, ethical individuals ready to face the future.

The event also reflected UNDIP’s vision of “Noble and Valuable UNDIP,” aligned with the national Diktisaintek Berdampak initiative. (Public Communication/ UNDIP/ Nabila&As)
