UNDIP, Jepara (July 27, 2025) – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Diponegoro (FISIP UNDIP) held a Strategic Coordination Meeting at Antawirya Hotel, BPKJ Teluk Awur Complex, Jepara Regency. The event marked a significant milestone in consolidating directions and strategies for academic development, with the goal of establishing world-class study programs.
The meeting was attended by the Dean, Chair of Faculty Senate, Vice-Deans, Managers, Supervisors, Heads of Department, Heads of Study Program, and Heads of Academic Expertise groups (Ketua Kelompok Bidang Keahlian / KBK) within FISIP UNDIP. The main agenda focused on monitoring and evaluating strategic programs, including the World-Class University (WCU), World-Class Faculty (WCF), and World-Class Study Program (WCSP) initiatives, as well as strengthening KBKs and implementing an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum design.
In his remarks, Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., stressed that internationalization is not merely about achieving a label, but about building an academic system that is genuinely relevant and impactful.
“Our goal is not simply to pursue international status, but to develop real competencies that benefit society. FISIP students must be globally competitive, able to work internationally, and become problem solvers,” Dr. Teguh said.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening KBKs as instruments designed to reinforce both faculty and student expertise and academic focus.
“KBKs are strategic tools. They allow lecturers working in the same field to collaborate, strengthen assignments, develop expertise, and create a learning process that is relevant to the workforce. Synergy among lecturers within the same discipline produces a solid and competitive academic process,” he explained.
Furthermore, Dr. Teguh emphasized that building an international-standard academic atmosphere requires a collective understanding across all elements, including senior lecturers, junior lecturers, students, and professors. Effective academic processes, he noted, can only be achieved if all parties move in the same direction.
As an outcome of the meeting, FISIP UNDIP set targets to accelerate the comprehensive implementation of the OBE curriculum, enhance cross-KBK synergy, and improve the quality of academic services for students in line with international standards.
“We want students to receive the best academic services. Lecturers should also have the space to perform, create, and advance according to their potential. This effort is essential to ensure that education processes remain relevant to the needs of society and industry,” Dr. Teguh concluded.
With a collaborative spirit and measurable strategies, FISIP UNDIP continues to strengthen its position as an adaptive and competitive higher education institution in the face of global challenges. (Public Communication/ FISIP/ Rifat)
