UNDIP, Semarang (October 4, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) welcomed a visit from the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rachmat Pambudy, M.S., on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The visit was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and UNDIP on Collaboration in National Development Planning through Education, Research, and Community Service, followed by a groundbreaking ceremony for the ProfDiet 2 kitchen building at the Academic Senate–Board of Trustees (SA–MWA) complex, UNDIP Tembalang Campus.
Minister Rachmat Pambudy expressed his pride in visiting Universitas Diponegoro, an institution recognized for its strong innovation and outstanding research products. He stated, “UNDIP has a solid research capacity in the fields of energy, environment, maritime, and health. The synergy between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and UNDIP is expected to accelerate the downstreaming of research results so that the benefits can be directly felt by society while supporting the achievement of national development goals.”
Furthermore, the Minister emphasized that the Government is committed to improving the quality of human resources (HR) through the Trisula of National Development outlined in the 2025–2029 Medium-Term National Development Plan (RPJMN), consisting of three key focuses: poverty reduction, human resource development, and sustainable economic growth.
“UNDIP has great environmental potential, quality education, and excellent human resources to produce a generation that is noble, valuable, and outstanding,” he remarked. “Therefore, it is essential to strengthen collaboration through education, research, and community service for well-planned sustainable development.”
UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., warmly welcomed and expressed his gratitude for the trust placed by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in establishing this strategic partnership with UNDIP. “This collaboration marks an important milestone in bridging university research outcomes with national development needs. UNDIP is ready to contribute through advanced research, technology development, and community empowerment,” said the Rector.
“To date, UNDIP continues to develop innovations that directly benefit society, such as desalination machines that help coastal communities access clean drinking water, and ozone-based fruit and vegetable preservation machines that help farmers maintain the freshness and economic value of their harvests. Other innovations include the use of electric vehicles to transport students around campus. Many more UNDIP research products will continue to be introduced to the public as a form of the university’s contribution to national innovation,” he added.
During the visit, the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas and his delegation also visited the Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND) to conduct a series of activities, including a discussion session on the hospital’s development plans and a visit to patients with genetic disorders.
After interacting with patients at RSND, the Minister continued his visit to the ProfDiet 1 Kitchen at the Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro. ProfDiet Kitchen is a food and bakery business unit that offers healthy food products under the “ProfDiet” brand, serving both the UNDIP community and the public.
During the campus tour of RSND, the Faculty of Medicine, and the SA–MWA complex, the Minister, Rector, and accompanying guests rode in an electric buggy vehicle—an innovation developed by UNDIP’s Vocational School.
The collaboration and synergy between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and Universitas Diponegoro support the 17th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG): Partnerships for the Goals, through excellence in education and human resources that contribute to national development.
The tangible benefits of UNDIP’s research and innovations for society also embody the spirit of the Ministry of Higher Education’s Diktisaintek Berdampak (Impactful Science and Technology) program. (Public Communication/UNDIP/Ut)
