Universitas Diponegoro and Universitas Tadulako Collaboration: Advancing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and Synergy for the Development of Transmigration Region

UNDIP, Sulawesi Tengah (November 24, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) conducted a visit to Universitas Tadulako (UNTAD) to strengthen strategic collaboration in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: education, research, and community service. The UNDIP delegation was led by the PIC of UNDIP Patriot Transmigration Program, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wiwandari Handayani, S.T., M.T., M.PS., accompanied by the Head of LPPM UNDIP, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Suherman, S.T., M.T., and a representative of the Patriot Output Review Team, Dr. Yudi Basuki, S.T., M.T.

The delegation was received directly by the Rector of Universitas Tadulako, Prof. Dr. Ir. Amar, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., along with key university leaders, including the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ir. Andi Arham Adam, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Ir. Bakri, S.T., Grad.Dipl., M.Phil; and the Coordinator of the Urban and Regional Planning Program, Ir. Iwan Setiawan Basri, S.T., M.Si.

This visit reflects UNDIP’s commitment to expanding collaborative academic networks across higher education institutions. The discussions focused on developing transmigration areas and on creating synergies among the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through joint research, academic programs, and community-based initiatives. This partnership is intended to foster long-term collaboration that not only supports regional development but also strengthens academic capacity and local empowerment.

As part of the agenda, the UNDIP delegation also visited the Urban and Regional Planning (URP/PWK) Study Program at UNTAD. During the session, UNDIP presented several strategic programs, including the Patriot Expedition Program, the Patriot Scholarship, and opportunities for postgraduate study through UNDIP’s Master’s (M.Sc.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs in Urban and Regional Planning. The discussion also identified the potential participation of UNTAD students and lecturers in the Patriot Expedition activities, particularly in community empowerment and regional development initiatives that address the needs of transmigration areas.

This collaboration initiative marks a significant milestone for UNDIP and UNTAD in strengthening academic synergy, fostering innovation, and expanding broader collaborative networks—including future partnerships with other higher education institutions.

Furthermore, this cooperation is expected to deliver tangible contributions to scientific development, student capacity-building, and community empowerment, thereby reinforcing the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through impactful education, research, and community engagement that directly support the development of transmigration regions.
