UNDIP, Semarang (December 12, 2025) – Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Diponegoro held an arts performance as part of the DWP UNDIP activities to commemorate the 26th Anniversary of Dharma Wanita Persatuan in 2025. Carrying the theme “The Strategic Role of DWP in Educating the Nation’s Children Toward Golden Indonesia 2045,” DWP of Universitas Diponegoro is committed to supporting the improvement of Indonesian women’s quality, strengthening the role of families, and making tangible contributions to the nation.

The event took place at the Art Center building on the Faculty of Humanities, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. It was attended by the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., as Advisor to DWP UNDIP, as well as guest Prof. Ir. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D., IPU, founder of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) kulintang foundation, accompanied by his wife, along with other guests.

In his remarks, the Advisor to DWP UNDIP, who is also the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, extended congratulations on the celebration of the 26th Anniversary of DWP to the attendees, who are members of DWP UNDIP. Each representative came from 15 (fifteen) DWP UNDIP work units, comprising 11 Faculties, 1 Postgraduate School, 1 Vocational School, the Rectorate, and UNDIP National Hospital (RSND).

“Alhamdulillah, we are grateful for the many positive activities carried out by the wives through DWP activities, so they do not trouble their husbands too much,” the Rector joked at the beginning of his speech. Prof. Suharnomo added that the role of a wife is vital in the family. “A wife or a mother is not only a companion, but more than that, she also plays a role as an educator, guide, and caregiver for children at home,” he said.

The Chairperson of DWP UNDIP, Dewi Widayani Suharnomo, began by reading a message from the Chairperson of Central DWP, Ida Rahmawati Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who conveyed that the commemoration of the 26th Anniversary of DWP is not merely ceremonial, but a momentum to strengthen the role of women in national development. Therefore, proper nurturing, caregiving, and educational guidance are needed for children’s growth and development toward Golden Indonesia.

Asih is defined as affection; asuh refers to nutrition and care; and asah means providing adequate stimulation and education. Thus, the family becomes the primary determinant of children’s growth and development. From harmonious families, it is hoped that children with integrity and global competitiveness will be born.

Furthermore, Dewi Suharnomo explained that Dharma Wanita Persatuan UNDIP has 11 activity units, such as Kolintang Gita Nusantara, Aquatic Yoga Sehat Bahagia, Majelis Tahsin Tafsir Permata Ilmi, MSNI (Majelis Sholawat Nurul Ilmi), Christian spiritual activities, New Permata Suara Choir, Permata Jelita Magazine, Line Dance Lentera Bahagia, PAUD Permata UNDIP, scholarships for orphans, and DWP UNDIP Bertadarus.

Nevertheless, the Chairperson of DWP UNDIP reminded members to continue prioritizing family amid DWP activities, considering the crucial role of mothers in children’s development. This action aligns with the tagline of the 26th Anniversary theme: #DWPTeaches: Educating with Heart, Inspiring the Nation.

On that occasion, the Founder of the PYC Kolintang Foundation and former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Prof. Ir. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, together with his wife, presented one set of kolintang instruments to the DWP UNDIP kolintang activity unit.

The event concluded with performances by the 11 activity units owned by DWP UNDIP, packaged under the title “Ekspresi” (Works of Action and Art) of DWP UNDIP.

Previously, the commemoration of the 26th Anniversary of Dharma Wanita Persatuan in 2025 by DWP UNDIP was preceded by a flower-laying ceremony at the UNDIP cemetery as a form of respect for predecessors who have contributed to the advancement of Universitas Diponegoro.
